Andrulian is the recording name of Andy Lyon, a sound artist, sound designer, producer and blogger from the UK.
Andrulian produces electronic music somewhere between ambient, drone, minimal and techno with experimental and glitch elements.
Creative use of sounds and taking a different perspective are fundamental to Andrulian’s music. Manipulating field recordings, granulating sounds, glitching and experimenting are typically part of the creation process and many albums are recorded live.
In addition to Andrulian’s self-released albums, he is a member of the Climatronica Collective, Electronic Music Alliance and a regular contributor to the Cities and Memory project and Naviar Haiku’s weekly Haiku Challenge, as well as having releases on Mystic Timbre, Fwonk, Mobius Spin and Submarine Broadcasting Company netlabels. Andrulian also appears on numerous compilation albums. You can hear some of his work on the linked pages in the menu and all major streaming platforms such as Spotify.
Andrulian’s sound design credits include creating presets for Palindrome, a granular morph plotting sampler effect and Convex, a multi-effects processor designed to facilitate the creation of contorted artifacts, syncopated patterns and skewed digital textures, both by Glitchmachines.
